Rifaq “The Ronin” Sarwar

Rifaq Sarwar, also known as “the Ronin,” began training in combat sports as a child, following in the footsteps of his father who was a wrestler. Rifaq earned black belts in both Kyokushin karate and judo and has achieved gold medals in nearly every style he has pursued. When he moved from Peshawar to Islamabad for his studies, he joined the Passion Combat Academy where he has been training with Usama Mehboob Awan for years, eventually starting his professional mixed martial arts (MMA) career. Rifaq’s debut fight against Nazeer Khan at SA Garden Lahore resulted in a victory and a cash prize of 50k. He also won an MMA tournament at the Karachi Cage Fighting league. Alongside his own training, Rifaq has been coaching young fighters at the Passion Combat Academy. Currently pursuing a PhD in sports sciences at Ulster University in the UK, Rifaq continues his training at one of England’s top MMA gyms. We eagerly anticipate his return to the ring in the near future.
